It’s time to take it down a notch with Yin Yoga training, the slow-paced yoga that helps you sit more comfortably and gain a deeper stretch. With a focus on relaxing the deeper tissues, maintain your flexibility as you age.
Breathe easier, calm your body and mind with the meditative approach of Yin Yoga.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a passive healing practice designed to help you stretch the connective tissue around the joints. It mainly stretches the lower part of the body including areas such as the knees, pelvis, sacrum, and the spine. To access the deeper layers of the body’s connective tissue – the fascia, tendons, and ligaments – postures or asanas are held longer compared to regular yoga.
Yin Yoga Postures
The floor poses of Yin Yoga are held for 3 to 5 minutes, depending on your level of skill and the pose. Popular Yin Yoga asanas include the shoelace pose, caterpillar pose, sphinx pose, saddle pose and more. Experience the different poses of Yin Yoga at TopFit!
Why is Yin Yoga Good for You?
The aim of Yin Yoga is to cultivate a meditative mind with the rhythm of breath and deep stretching. During a Yin Yoga session, the mind shifts from Yang to Yin, going from active to passive. This forces you to slow down in a fast-paced world, revitalising your mind and body.
